Biography
Born in the city of Flagstaff (Arizona) . He graduated from the University of North Deim , the University of Newcastle and the Harvard Institute of Law . Married to Harriet Koons. In the period March 4, 1978 - January 6, 1987 served as governor of Arizona (twice). In 1979 , he worked for the government of Jimmy Carter , as Commissioner in the Presidential Commission to investigate the incident at the Three Mile Island NPP . Founding member of the Democratic Leadership Council and Chairman of the Democratic Association in 1985 . Babbitt tried to dabble from the Democratic Party for the presidency of the United States in 1988 . In the period of January 22, 1993 - January 2, 2001, he served as the US Secretary of the Interior. After leaving the ministry, he was hired as Chief Counselor of the Ministry of the Environment to the international law firm Latham & Watkins . In 2005 he wrote the book Cities in the Wilderness .
