Name Origin
It appeared as Bolshaya Ugreshskaya street. Here, apparently, there was a Moscow courtyard near the St. Nicholas Ugreshsky Monastery (founded in 1380 by Dmitry Donskoy at the confluence of the Ugresh River in the Moscow River ; it is located in the town of Dzerzhinsky , near Moscow ). Malaya Ugreshskaya Street (until 1951 - Sukino Boloto) was built up in the 1970s. Until 1917, Bolshaya Ugreshskaya Square also existed here.
It got its modern name in 1979 in memory of the Bolshevik worker Arseny Emelyanovich Stroykov (1890-1919). Earlier - since 1925 - this name belonged to the now abolished lane.
