List of Algeria National Parks:
The first natural territories with special environmental status appeared in Algeria by order of the Governor General of February 17, 1921 at the suggestion of the Forest Service [1] . The first and largest national park approved during the independence period is Tassilin-Adger. A part of this park has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site since 1982 [2] . The maximum number of parks appeared in the 1980s. Today, there are eleven national parks in Algeria; they occupy an area of 118736.37 km², which is about 5% of the country's territory.
