Season 2009-2010
Vladimir spent the pre-season preparation in the youth team and was even considered as a candidate for the foundation. However, he didn’t pass the team for the December stages of the IBU Cup and was forced to start the season in the Russian Cup. In the very first race in Novosibirsk, Semakov won the sprint with a big advantage and pure shooting, and showed the second result in the pursuit. Vladimir also had a good start in Yekaterinburg and Perm , where he was in the top three, despite the mistakes at the turn [3] . Thanks to successful performances at domestic competitions, an athlete was able to select the January stages of the IBU Cup [4] . At the end of the season in the overall IBU Cup, Vladimir took the 32nd place with 144 points [5] .

Season 2010–2011
Vladimir spent the pre-season training at the heart of the Russian national team and for the first time in his career he joined the World Cup [6] .
2011–2012 Season
March 30, 2012 won the marathon (36 km, 8 firing lines) as part of the Russian Championship in Uvat .

On August 27, 2010, Vladimir got married. His choice was a professional athlete, master of sports of international class and multiple European champion in summer biathlon Nadezhda Starik [7] .
