Biography
Educated at the 2nd Moscow Classical Gymnasium , Institute of Railway Engineers and at St. Petersburg University .
He began his military service as a volunteer in the Life Guards Semyonovsky Regiment , where in 1878 he was promoted to ensign.
In 1879, he took the post of educator of the 3rd St. Petersburg Military Gymnasium , and then successively held the posts of assistant class inspector in the Alexander Cadet Corps [1] , head of the training department of the Main Directorate of Military Educational Institutions, full-time teacher of the 1st Cadet Corps , inspector classes of the Alexander Cadet Corps and General for special assignments at the Main Directorate of military educational institutions.
In 1910 he was credited to the reserve with production as lieutenant general.
In 1911, with the highest permission, he was appointed a permanent member of the pedagogical committee of the Main Directorate of military schools, and then was a minister of war.
From 1877 until the end of his life, Mikhnevich worked in various magazines and publications: “ Pedagogical Collection ”, “ News ”, “ North ”, “ Scout ”, “ Russian Disabled ” and “ Military Encyclopedia ”.
