Plants consist of inflorescences of 20-40 yellow flowers, similar to bells that hang on stems, reaching a height of 90-120 cm, and basal rosettes of leaves 5-20 cm long. The flowers have a barely noticeable aroma.
The plant grows best in humid conditions, its natural habitat is floodplains of rivers. It is resistant to cold, while its roots are sufficiently moist.
The species was first described in 1924 by the English botanist Frank Kingdon-Ward (1885-1958), who named it after his wife Florinda.
