Ideon

Ideon is the first Swedish technopark founded in Lund in 1983 .

Ideon works closely with higher education institutions in the city of Lund, which since the seventeenth century. is a traditional center for university education. In 2001, about 170 firms functioned in the park, employing 2 thousand employees. 15 universities carry out their activities in Lund, in which 120 thousand students study.

Ideon created ideal conditions for companies - there are banks, conference rooms, dormitories, a well-functioning telecommunications service and, above all, young promising personnel.

The total area of ​​the laboratories is currently about 100 thousand m ² . The predominant fields of activity are biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, information technology and electronics. The Lund Institute of Technology alone founded a number of innovative companies in the technology park (with the support of Ericsson and others) that develop special chips and technologies for their production. Therefore, the Ideon Technopark is also called the Swedish Silicon Valley .

"Ideon Business Center" provides innovative firms with legal advice, provides assistance in the field of marketing, in the development of business plans, the search for funding sources and investors.

The technopark has an incubator “Ideon Greenhouse”, created by the University in Lund in cooperation with the Swedish investment company IKANO and the company Teknopol.
