The Center for Strategic Research (CSR) Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in December 1999 to develop strategic research in key sectors of the Russian economy.

The founders of the fund were: State University Higher School of Economics , Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation , Work Center for Economic Reforms under the Government of the Russian Federation, Institute of Economic Analysis.
Since May 2018, the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin has been the Chairman of the Council of the Central Development Council, and Alexander Sinitsyn, President of the Fund since December 2018.
The goal of the CSR is to become a national platform for the interaction of business, society and government in the development of the economy and the formation of a strategy for socio-economic development of Russia for the long term.
History
December 1999 - the creation of the CSR;
May 2000 - completion of work on the Strategy for socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for the period until 2010 ( Strategy 2010 );
August 2015 - January 2016 - carrying out research work on the development of organizational mechanisms for the implementation of the “roadmaps” of the National Technology Initiative;
November 2015 - March 2017 - work on the preparation of the Strategy for the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation;
From April 2016 - 2018, the development of the Russian Development Strategy for 2018-2024;
November 2018 - The Ministry of Economic Development became one of the founders of the Central Development Council, by decision of the members of the Fund Council. The head of the department, Maxim Oreshkin, was elected the new Chairman of the Council, replacing Alexei Kudrin .
Since December 2018 - CSR has been working to create a national platform for the interaction of business, society and government in the development of the economy and the formation of a strategy for the socio-economic development of Russia.
