About the album

The disc includes many of Harrison’s famous songs performed in concert by his fellow musicians. The album is a recording of the Concert for George , held November 29, 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall on the day of the first anniversary of Harrison's death. One of the performers and music director of the concert was Eric Clapton .

The album was released in November 2003, on the second anniversary of the death of George Harrison, and rose to 97th place on the American charts. In 2005, the Concert for George music DVD won a Grammy Award for Best Featured Music Video of the Year. The DVD included bonus material, including Monty Python's “Sit on My Face” and “ The Lumberjack Song ” and “ Horse to the Water ” by Sam Brown , daughter of British singer Joe Brown .
