Navaratna

Necklace of Navagraha of Thai Queen Sirikit .

Navaratna (lit. “nine treasures”) - Indian jewelry made of precious stones for 9 planets in Indian astrology ( navagraha ). The gemstone set includes gemstones such as pearls ( Moon ), emerald ( Mercury ), ruby ( Sun ), diamond ( Venus ), red coral ( Mars ), blue sapphire ( Saturn ), yellow sapphire ( Jupiter ), hessonite ( Rahu ) and cat's eye ( Ketu ). A navaratna is also called a necklace of these nine gems. In Hinduism, it is believed that the navarata has special magical qualities and can have a positive effect on the life of the one who wears it. In Indian culture , the term "Navarata" is also used figuratively. For example, they call them nine prominent personalities (9 sages at the court of King Vikramaditya and others). The expression "one of the most" is used as the epithet of a revered person. In particular, the so-called great Indian poet and playwright Kalidasu was called. Navaratna plays an important role in a number of Hindu rituals. During the laying of a house, palace or temple, a navaratna is placed in its foundation. It is believed that this gives the building strength and durability, and its inhabitants - happiness and prosperity.
