Biography
Pavel Ivanovich Sazonov was born in 1900 in the village of Berezovka, Uvat volost, Tobolsk district, Tobolsk province .
In 1919 he graduated from a teacher's seminary in Tobolsk.
The young man reached the emergency rooms from Tobolsk province in Perm and entered the pedagogical faculty, because he simply did not know about others. There he met a medical student and is so interested in stories about anatomy and physiology that he decides to go to the medical faculty.
After graduating from the university in 1929, he was sent to the Urals region by distribution.
Since 1930, he began working in Tyumen first as a therapist, then as a resident in the surgical department of the city hospital.
During the Great Patriotic War, Pavel Ivanovich was the leading surgeon of the evacuation hospital No. 1498. He performed complex and unique operations. More than five thousand surgical interventions were performed under his guidance, two thousand he did. Sazonov took a surgical initiative. Operating the wounded, he applied his own modifications of the osteoplastic operations of Pirogov and Krukenberg , successfully operated on arterial aneurysms, and removed foreign bodies from the cavity of the skull and chest.
In 1942 - 1943 he taught at the Kutaisi Medical School .
After the war, Sazonov worked as the head of the surgical department of the regional hospital.
From 1950 to 1965 - chief surgeon of the region.
In 1951, he was the first to perform heart surgery in Siberia.
In 1954, he organized a surgical society.
Over his life, he wrote more than 10 scientific papers and articles.
