Biography
Representative of the Lithuanian gentry family of the Poces of the coat of arms " Pocat " The eldest son of the governor of Vitebsk Leonard Gabriel Poitsei ( 1632 - 1695 ) and Regina Oginskaya. Ludwik Poczey began serving in the Lithuanian army from 1684 , although he claimed that he had fought in the Battle of Vienna . In the ranks of the Lithuanian troops participated in the campaign against Turkey . He was a fierce opponent of the domination of the magnate family Sapieha in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . Participated in the 1700 Lithuanian Home War against Sapieha. He took part in the Battle of Alkeniki , in which a large combined army of Lithuanian magnates defeated the private army Sapeg. Getman had the reputation as a drunkard and a traitor , but in the meantime he was a talented commander, especially as the commander of the cavalry, who often appeared in the rear of the enemy.
Polish journalist of the beginning of the XXI century Maciej Rybinsky claims that in 1722, Tsar Peter drunk challenged Ludvik and lost to him [1] .
The only daughter is Ludvika Marianna Poczey, the wife of a sub-table of the great crown František Borzhetsky.
