It is distributed in the southern part of the Khabarovsk Territory , the Amur Region , the Sakhalin Region , in the Primorsky Territory and on the southern Kurile Islands ( Kunashir ), and is also found in Japan , the Korean peninsula and in northeast China . [one]

Description

Beetle length from 23 to 48 millimeters. Antennae 12-segmented; starting from the third segment in males and from the seventh in females, the antennae are piloid. Elytra wide, their tops with a thinly needle-shaped inner and rounded outer corners. [one]

Ecology

The flight of beetles lasts from July to April. Adult beetles colonize the roots of dried trees such as oak ( Quercus ), maple ( Acer ) and elm ( Ulmus ). Larvae develop under the bark and in the wood. [one]

Development

The life cycle lasts three years. The larvae pupate in the soil after the third wintering. [one]
