Paul de Fage de Casteljau ( French: Paul de Faget de Casteljau ; November 19, 1930 , Besancon , France ) - French mathematician and physicist . He graduated from the Higher Normal School in Paris .

Working at Citroen , in 1959 he developed an algorithm for constructing and dividing the Bezier curve , which is quite fast and reliable . The algorithm is widely used in computer-aided design systems and computer graphics programs . In the early 90s, he resigned and is currently engaged in quaternions and metric geometry.
