At the 1996 Summer Olympics, the American delegation consisted of 646 people. She took part in competitions in 31 types, receiving only 101 medals [1] , of which gold: 44, silver: 32 and bronze: 25 (becoming the 1st in the medal standings). The standard bearer of the team at the opening ceremony was Bruce Baumgartner ; at the closing ceremony - Michael Matz .
