Uele ( FR. Uele ) is a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

Its length is 1130 kilometers. The source of the river is in the Blue Mountains, west of Lake Albert , near the border with Sudan . In the upper reaches of the river is called Kibala. Merging with the Mbomu River, near the city of Dzhakoma it forms the Ubangi River . It is the fifth longest river in Africa. The highest water discharge during the rainy season is from March to October . It has a number of tributaries. Explored the river in the XIX century, the Russian naturalist Junker .
