List of tallest buildings in Russia

Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, the tallest building in Russia

The list of the tallest buildings in Russia includes skyscrapers and high-rise buildings with a height of 130 meters or more. For residential buildings, the height of which is unknown, but the number of storeys is known, the total height is calculated according to the formula recommended by the experts of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Environment : for residential buildings and hotels, the floor height is assumed to be 3.1 m, for office buildings - 3.9 m, for multifunctional - 3.5 m [1] . Accordingly, the criterion for inclusion in the list for buildings with unknown height is as follows: 42 floors for residential buildings, 37 floors for multi-purpose, 33 floors for office.

Buildings here are understood as ground-based building constructions with premises for living and (or) human activities, production facilities, product storage or animal welfare [2] . TV towers , masts , pipes and other technical structures designed for purposes other than those stated above are not included in the list.

The highest in Russia, as well as in Europe , is the 462-meter 88-story skyscraper Lakhta Center in non-capital St. Petersburg .

Historically, in Moscow, the capital city of Moscow was also laid down by construction, but other skyscrapers planned by the highest in Russia and Europe were canceled at the beginning of construction - the 495-meter 100-story Palace of Soviets (was also supposed to be the tallest in the world) in the 1940s and the 612-meter 118-story Russia Tower in the 2000s.

Constructed and completed buildings

The list includes constructed and under construction buildings that have reached their maximum design height. Yellow buildings that have not yet been commissioned are highlighted in yellow. An equal sign (=) after the building number in the ranking indicates that at least one other building has a similar height.

Buildings approved and proposed for construction

The list includes ordered and proposed for construction, not started by the construction of the building, satisfying three criteria: having an existing investor (developer), submitted to the public and reviewed by the official authorities.

If from the moment the investor (developer) refuses to build the building, the latter is not transferred to the new investor within two years, it is transferred to the Canceled / Unrealized section. Projects that do not have an investor (developer) and therefore do not have the ability to be implemented are not included in the list.

Notes

  1. ↑ In accordance with applicable building codes and rules (SNiP 2.08.02-89 *):

When determining the number of floors of a building, the number of floors includes all above-ground floors, including the technical floor, the attic, and also the basement floor, if the top of its ceiling is at least 2 m above the average planning level of the ground. The underground for ventilation under buildings designed for construction on permafrost soils, regardless of its height, is not included in the number of aboveground floors. With a different number of floors in different parts of the building, as well as when placing the building on a site with a slope, when the number of floors increases due to the slope, the number of storeys is determined separately for each part of the building. The technical floor located above the upper floor is not taken into account when determining the number of floors of a building.
