Planck hypothesis

The Plank hypothesis is a hypothesis put forward by Max Planck on December 14, 1900, which consists in the fact that with thermal radiation, energy is emitted and absorbed not continuously, but in separate quanta (portions). Each such quantum portion has energyE {\ displaystyle {\ mathcal {E}}} {\ mathcal {E}} proportional to frequencyν {\ displaystyle \ nu} \ nu radiation:

Based on this hypothesis, he proposed a theoretical conclusion of the relationship between the body temperature and the radiation emitted by this body - the Planck formula .

Later, the Planck hypothesis was confirmed experimentally .

The advancement of this hypothesis is considered the moment of the birth of quantum mechanics .
