Patrick John Miguel van Anholt ( Dutch: Patrick John Miguel van Aanholt ; born August 29, 1990 , in Hertogenbosch , the Netherlands ), better known as Patrick van Anholt, is a Dutch soccer player , left-back from Crystal Palace and the Netherlands national team .

Club career

In August 2009, he was leased for six months to Coventry City , where he spent 20 matches. January 29, 2010 was rented by the Newcastle United club for 1 month in order to replace the injured Jose Enrique . Together with Jonas Gutierrez was the strike force of the “forty” on the left flank.

Chelsea held their first official match against Portsmouth , replacing Yuri Zhirkov in the 70th minute. The next match was held against Aston Villa , again replacing the Russian instead.

On July 25, 2014, Van Anholt left Chelsea and moved to Sunderland , signing a four-year contract with the club. [3]

On January 30, 2017, he entered into a contract with Crystal Palace for four and a half years.

International Career

On November 19, 2013, Van Anholt made his debut in the main team of the Netherlands in a friendly match against the Colombian team , which ended in a 0-0 draw [4] .

Personal life

Patrick is a cousin of the midfielder of Swansea City and the Netherlands Leroy Fera [5] .
