Biography
Vladimir Ivanovich Strunin was born on January 10, 1953 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , East Kazakhstan region , the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic . In 1970 he entered Tomsk State University and graduated from its Physics and Technology Faculty in 1976 . In the same year, he got a job at Omsk State University as the head of a laboratory.
In 1985 he became a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences , having defended his thesis on the specialty “ Physics and Chemistry of Plasma ”, and in 1990 he received the title of associate professor.
In 1988 - 1991 he worked at the Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy at the Department of Physics.
Since 1992, he has been Head of the Department of Experimental Physics and Radiophysics of Omsk State University.
In 1993 - 1999 he was the dean of the Faculty of Physics of OmSU.
From 1999 to 2002 he worked as the OmSU Vice-Rector for Information Technologies, from 2002 to 2009 - as the Vice-Rector for Research and Information Technologies.
In 2006, he defended his doctoral thesis in the specialty " Plasma Physics ", in 2007 he was awarded the title of professor.
On May 29, 2009, Strunin was elected rector of Omsk State University .
On April 29, 2014, regular elections were held for the rector of Omsk State University. F.M. Dostoevsky. According to the results of this conference, Yakub Aleksey Valerievich Dean of the Faculty of History of OmSU was elected the new Omsk State University Rector. Term of office Strunina V.I. in a post of the rector expired on June 22, 2014. Currently he is the General Director of the Public Joint-Stock Company "Omsk Radio Electronics Technology Park" [2] whose founders are:
