About the album
“ New York Groove ” climbed to 13th place on the Billboard [4] chart, the highest score for KISS, from the 1976 song “Beth” to the song “ I Was Made for Lovin 'You ”, which was released a year later (11th place). The album itself took 26th place on the American Billboard board. The album went platinum on October 2, 1978, when 1,000,000 copies were sold. [five]
The drum part was played by Anton Fig, who later became a KISS session member on the Dynasty and Unmasked albums, and also became the drummer of Ace's Frehley's Comet. Figs, along with Will Lee, who played on the 3 tracks of this album, will later become members of Paul Schaffer's band at Late Night with David Letterman and The Late Show with David Letterman .
The two songs from this album, “Rip It Out” and “Snow Blind,” were interwoven by Chemical People and Skin Yard on Hard to Believe: Kiss Covers Compilation . Foo Fighters released a cover of the song "Ozone" as a b-side to their single " I'll Stick Around ." The songs “Snowblind” and “Fractured Mirror” were also replayed by Dymbag Darrell , who was Ace's huge fan who had Ace Frehley 's album cover tattooed on his chest. [6]
