However, a number of Buddhist schools and groups recognize him as a special mystical power. , revered and highly appreciated as Teachers. It is considered a descendant of Pema Lingpa and is revered in Bhutan .

For many years, Prime Minister Sangye Gyamtso hid the death of the Dalai Lama V , and the prescribed time to search for his new “appearance” has passed. This subsequently made it possible to assert that the new Dalai Lama was not identified correctly.

The search for the sixth Dalai Lama was carried out in strict secrecy. Rigzin Zhamyang Gyamtskho was found in the south-west of Tibet, in the town of Myeon, east of Bhutan - currently in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in the territory of India. According to one legend, the place of his birth is the monastery of Urgelling [1] . He was born into a family of Nyingma followers. The boy was brought to Tsen monastery, and later in Namkarz. Only in 1697 was his identity revealed. The fifth Panchen Lama personally came to the new Dalai Lama and, even within the walls of the monastery, gave him vows of the “getskhula” (shramaners).

The new first hierarch turned out to be a very capable young man, but not very suitable for his dignity. He turned out to be a gifted poet (perhaps the second most important poet of Tibet after Milarepa), but the monastic life clearly disliked him. He went to the Tashilunpo Monastery in Shigatse and abandoned the Getsül monastic vows, bowing three times to the Panchen Lama. He asked for forgiveness from his spiritual mentor for the lack of inner conviction for monastic life, explaining that only he should wear monastic clothes who feel called. The Dalai Lama VI preferred to leave Potala incognito and have fun in Lhasa . He drank wine , sang songs, contacted women, while writing inspirational poems.

Pink clouds
Hide heaven and hail.
Only be half a monk
It means to be a hidden enemy of learning.

This “head of state” did not like Sangye Gyamtso. One night in Lhasa, the Dalai Lama was attacked. The trusting relationship between the Dalai Lama and the Prime Minister was broken. As a result, the king of the Mongols, Labsang Gyamtso, invaded Lhasa with his army and ordered the capture of Sangye Gyamtso, who was later executed, and tried to declare another young monk to be the real Dalai Lama. The abbots of the three largest monasteries Drepung , Ganden and Sera and the Panchen Lama opposed this idea.

China intervened in the matter, considering himself the overlord of Tibet . The Lama poet was invited (and actually summoned) to Beijing . An uprising has risen in Lhasa. To avoid bloodshed, the Dalai Lama gave himself into the hands of the Mongols and voluntarily went with them. A few weeks later, in the extreme north-east of Tibet, in a desert region near Lake Kukunor , Jamyang Gyamtso died under mysterious circumstances (rumors were said to have been poisoned). According to another version, he began to perform “Lama's Dance”, thus causing a sandstorm, then he sat in a pose of meditation and stopped breathing so as not to be a political hostage against his country.

After this, trouble began. Beijing put pressure on Lhasa and achieved recognition by the Lhasan clergy of the fallacy of their earlier choices. The search began for a new, again Sixth Dalai Lama. Meanwhile, supporters of the deceased poet began the search for the Dalai Lama VII. However, in the end, the late poet could triumph: the end of the turmoil was laid by recognition of his status as the legitimate Dalai Lama VI and the discovery of a new Dalai Lama VII as his new “appearance”.

Before leaving the Lhasa, the 6th Dalai Lama wrote a poem to one of his mistresses, which contained an indication of the place of birth of his successor.

White Crane,
Lend me your wings.
I will fly no further than Lithang ,
And from there I will be back soon.
