Career

With partner Sabrina Lefransua, he is the champion of France in 2004 . In the 2005-2006 season, he represented France in a pair with the Russian woman Rinata Araslanova, and with her became the silver medalist of the national championship. In the summer of 2007, Jérôme moved to Russia , to the group of Oleg Vasiliev , and began training in pair with Valeria Vorobyova . The French Federation of figure skating did not want to let him go under the Russian flag, but after a long struggle, he nevertheless received permission to represent Russia [1] . However, the results shown by this couple in the first year of joint performances were not satisfactory - they were only the third (of the three pairs involved) at the N.A.Panin Memorial 2007 [2] tournament and the fourth in the 2008 Russian Cup final. After that, the pair was dismissed by the coach and Jerome went to ride the show [4] . He took part in the project of the TV channel Russia "Star Ice" in 2008 , where he made a pair with the singer Yulia Savicheva .

In 2010 , at the suggestion of the former coach Oleg Vasiliev, he returned to the sport and stood in pair with the champion of Russia in 2007 , repeated winner of the European championships , Maria Mukhortova , who was left without a partner after the collapse of her pair with Maxim Trankov [5] . The new pair took only 7th place in the Russian Championship 2011 and could not, therefore, enter the national team, left without the financial support of the Federation [6] . After this failure, Blanchard returned to France, deciding to end an amateur career. Plans to do family hotel business. [7]
