Biography

Born on April 17, 1919 in the village of Palanochka, now Mankovsky district, Cherkasy region of Ukraine, in a working class family. He studied at the Kiev Financial and Economic College, worked as a turner at the Bolshevik plant .

In the Red Army since 1939 . Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939 - 1940 . In 1941 he graduated from the Gomel anti-tank artillery school. In the battles of World War II since 1942 . Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943 .

The battery commander of the 369th artillery regiment ( 162nd rifle division , 65th army, Central Front) candidate lieutenant Stepan Bogaychuk, member of the CPSU (b), in the area of ​​the city of Sevsk, now in the Bryansk region, on August 30, 1943, put forward the battery entrusted to him for firing direct fire and, letting the enemy chains closer, fire destroyed the Nazis point blank.
