Story
Traveling students Jim and Gracie agree to give an unknown lonely companion a ride on a deserted California road. Now the lives of young people are in mortal danger, because a fellow traveler is a dangerous bloodthirsty maniac.

- Director Dave Myers can be seen in the photo in the driver's license - his appearance is possessed by the real John Ryder, who was probably killed by the maniac companion.
- At the Gracie Hotel, he watches Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds . The plans of the company that shot this thriller are also shooting a remake of the horror movie Alfred Hitchcock .
- Jim drives an Oldsmobile 442 .
- The producers did not arrange the screening of the film for critics.
- Although the name of Eric Red is indicated in the credits, he did not take part in the creation of the script.
- Rutger Hauer, who played the maniac in the original version, was offered a guest appearance, but the actor refused because of creative differences .
- Sean Bean practically did not communicate with young actors in order to distance himself from them and to play his role more believable.
