Group History

The group consists of: Henry Dartnoll ( English Henry Dartnall , guitar , vocals ), Oliver Eskew ( English Oliver Askew , drums ) and Thomas Dartnoll ( English Thomas Dartnall , bass guitar , also known by the nickname House of Lords ), was formed in Ashley, Leicestershire, in 1998, where Ned's Atomic Dustbin songs were originally played [3] .

The first success of the team was associated with his move to Oxford in 2002. The performance at Truck Festival was followed by The Young Knives' debut mini-album ... Are Dead , released on the independent label Shifty Disco [3] .

Three years later, the band released the Junky Music Make My Heart Beat Faster EP on Transgressive Records, featuring Futureheads and Hot Hot Heat . The album was released in limited edition and was quickly sold out. In December 2005, The Decision's debut single, produced by Andy Gill from Gang of Four, was released. [3] During 2006, Young Knives grew rapidly in popularity: the singles “Here Comes the Rumour Mill” and “She's Attracted To” entered the British Top 40 [2] .

Young Knives performed a British tour with The Rakes and the Dirty Pretty Things , then successfully performed in Austin , Texas , at the annual South by Southwest festival . In the same year, the band released their debut full-length album Voices of Animals and Men , which rose to # 21 in Britain. The second album, Superabundance (# 28 UK), was released in 2008 [3] .
