The day of the inventor and innovator is a professional holiday in the countries of:
Belarus - the Day of the inventor and innovator (the last Saturday of June).
Russia is the Day of the inventor and rationalizer (last Saturday of June).
Ukraine is the Day of the inventor and rationalizer (the third Saturday of September).
Content
History
The holiday is also known as the Day of the Inventor and the Day of Inventions. Its history goes back to the Soviet Union: in 1957, the USSR Academy of Sciences proposed celebrating the Day of the inventor and rationalizer [1] . To this day, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus continue to celebrate this holiday, which has retained its original appearance, even if the celebration is now on a smaller scale.
On June 29, 2018, the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers and the Russian Academy of Sciences restored the tradition of celebrating the Day of the inventor and rationalizer at the Russian Academy of Sciences. On this day, the best inventors of the country — winners of the VOIR Prize — were awarded, as well as honoring the best rationalizers of the largest Russian companies [2] .
