Content

Club career

He began his career at the Union club in Luxembourg, where, at the age of 20, he was leased to the German Bundesliga club Borussia from Monchengladbach . After two seasons without constant playing practice, Langers moved to France , where for 10 years he played for 7 different teams, both in League 1 and League 2 . In 1989, while playing for the Orleans team, he became the top scorer of the second division in the French football league system [1] . In 1991, the striker moved to Cannes , where he played side by side with the young Zinedine Zidane .

In 1992, Langers moved to Switzerland and played for clubs such as Yverdon-Sport and Etoile Carouge. In 1994, he moved to Eintracht (Trier) and arrived at the club for 2 years, and then returned to his homeland. One season, Langers played for the F91 Dudelange , and then moved to his hometown Union, where he scored 14 goals in the 1997/98 season and ended his career.

National Team

Langers made his debut for the Luxembourg national team in September 1980 in the qualifying match for the 1982 World Cup against the national team of Yugoslavia . For 18 years of playing for the national team, he played 73 matches and scored 8 goals [2] . He took part in 35 matches in the qualifying round for the World Cup [3] . He played his last match for the national team in May 1998 against the national team of Cameroon , in which he replaced in the 52nd minute and was replaced after 28 minutes with a standing ovation [4] .
