Flag of the town of Elektrougli

On October 30, 2007, by the Decision of the Council of Deputies No. 89/28 ^[1] , the first flag of the city settlement of Elektrougli was approved. The flag description read:

The flag of the municipality “City of Elektrougli of the Moscow Region” is a rectangular two-sided two-color (upper part 2/3 of the cloth is scarlet (red); the lower part 1/3 of the cloth is yellow) a cloth with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, bearing upper left corner image of the coat of arms of the municipality "Elektrougli City of the Moscow Region".

The Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation rejected the request for registration of the flag in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation , since the flag of a municipality should be based on the coat of arms of the corresponding municipality and either accurately reproduce the composition of the coat of arms or reproduce the composition of the coat of arms with minimal formalization. Also, one should not allow the image of the city coat of arms in the shield to be placed on the flag.

After the Union of Heraldists of Russia developed a new flag design for the city settlement of Elektrougli, on May 5, 2008, by Decision of the Council of Deputies of the city settlement No. 122/34 ^[2] , a new drawing and description of the flag were approved:

A rectangular red panel with a 2: 3 ratio of width to length, bearing a yellow strip along the bottom edge (5/18 of the width of the panel) in the form of a brick wall with black lines of masonry joints; close to the strip, on the main, red part - a stylized image of two black electrodes with a yellow glow between their ends (in accordance with the emblem of the city).

The flag of the municipality “Elektrougli City of the Moscow Region” is compiled on the basis of the coat of arms of Elektrougli according to the rules and relevant traditions of vexillology and reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.

The flag in the language of heraldic symbols reflects the history of the city, as well as the main profile of the local population.

Flag elements reflect the first two enterprises of the city around which the modern city has grown.

Two electric charcoals speak of the oldest enterprise in the city - the Elektrougli plant, which gave the name to the working village, and then in 1956 to the city.

Yellow bricks (here - refractory) reflect the Kudinovsky ceramic products plant .

The star with the rays in the red field shows that the spotlights with electric coals were used at the beginning of the Berlin operation on April 16, 1945 - the final battle of the Great Patriotic War , which emphasizes the love of the townspeople for their homeland.

Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of wealth, stability, respect and intelligence.

Red color is a symbol of labor, courage, strength, beauty and celebration.

Black color is a symbol of wisdom, modesty, eternity.
