Pourbet, Marseille

Marcel Pourbaix was born on September 16, 1904 in Myshega ( Aleksinsky District , Tula Region , Russia , ) - Belgian Russian chemist origin. His father was an engineering project consultant. A brilliant chemist, he made his most famous discoveries during research at the Free University of Brussels . He studied corrosion and how to prevent it. His biggest achievement is to determine the pH potential, better known as the Purbe Chart . [1] Purbe diagrams are thermodynamic diagrams constructed using the Nernst equation , which visualize the relationship between the possible phases of the system, limited by lines representing the reactions between them. Diagrams are known as phase diagrams.
