The length of the river is 99 km, the catchment area is 954 km² [2] . It originates on the northeastern slopes of Stolovaya Mountain (2993 m), flows into the Terek near the village of Kardzhin . An aqueduct of the Alkhanchurt canal is thrown across the river, about 3 m³ / s of water from the canal is supplied to Kambileevka [3] .

On the southeastern outskirts of the village of Zilgi , 1.5 km from the city of Beslan, the territory of the ancient root bank of the floodplain of the Kambileevka River is occupied by the early medieval Zilga settlement with the Beslan burial ground (II – IV centuries A.D.), in which a total of 800 burial complexes were investigated Alan culture of an early stage [4] .
