Biography

Club career

Nemeth began his career in Slovan , from which he went to the east of the country a few years later, in Kosice . In both clubs, the football player has achieved tremendous success and received an invitation to the Prague Sparta , where he played for six months, on loan.

After a not very successful performance in the Czech Republic, Sylard returned to Slovakia, where he signed a contract with one of the country's strongest teams - Inter from Bratislava . It was here, with his amazing game, having become the top scorer of the championship twice in a row, he made a favorable impression on the scouts of foreign teams, as a result of which he signed a contract with Middlesbrough .

For four years, Sylard could not reach his full potential. For the club, he spent almost 150 matches, in which he scored only 28 goals, without becoming the main player.

Before the 2005/06 season , Németh turned down bets from other teams to stay at Middlesbrough . Rumor had it that the UEFA Cup holder of that year , Moscow CSKA , was offering him a salary of £ 2 million.

At the beginning of the season, in a meeting with Liverpool , Sylard was injured. After returning to the military squad, in January 2006, Sylard held several training sessions as part of a team, after which he was sent on loan to the Strasbourg club from France.

At the end of the lease, Strasbourg refused to sign a contract with the player on an ongoing basis, in connection with which Nemeth was forced to go back to England. At the end of August 2006, after the expiration of the contract with Middlesbrough, Sylard entered into an agreement with the German Alemania .

In November 2006, Nemeth suffered from pulmonary embolism as a result of the development of thrombosis . The disease threatened him with death. Fortunately, Sylard recovered and returned to duty.

On May 19, 2008, the footballer extended the contract with Alemania for another 2 years. In August 2010, Németh announced his retirement.

Team Career

For the Slovak national team, Sylard made his debut on February 2, 1997 in a friendly match against the national team of Bolivia. Nemeth was the national team's top scorer in all of its history, until Robert Wittek surpassed his achievement. In total, Sylard held 59 meetings in the national team, in which he scored 22 goals.
