History
The channel is owned by A&E Television Networks. This company also owns other channels whose content is based on real events: The History Channel, History International and Crime & Investigation Network [1] .
In 2007, versions of the channel were launched in Latin America and Germany.
January 1, 2008 the name of the channel was replaced by Bio . The owners specified that this replacement is part of the rebranding that began in 2006 . Similarly, the name of the channel The History Channel is replaced by History .
The HD version started in early November 2008 [2] .

The Biography Chanel in Russia
Since November 5, 2009, The Biography Channel is available in Russia in the offer of the British satellite platform Sky Digital [4] :
Its launch was planned even earlier, but with it, another HD channel, Crime and Investigation Network HD (CI HD), also appeared in the broadcasting service. These two stations are products of The History Channel UK.
