Biography
Born into the family of a photographer on December 15 (28), 1912 [1] in Yalta . He spent his childhood in his parents' native village, Glinino, Rybinsk District, Yaroslavl Region ; studied in schools of the Rybinsk region and Rybinsk . From 1932, he worked as a drifter and insulator at the construction of the Komsomolskaya metro station in Moscow, then as an inspector of the personnel department of the Moscow plant named after S. P. Gorbunov .
The first publications were in the Metrostroi circulation. In 1936-1940, he studied at the evening department of the Literary Institute named after A. M. Gorky . The first book of poems "Friends" was published in 1939 in the publishing house " Soviet Writer ". During the Great Patriotic War , the Red Army guard of the musician platoon of the 8th Guards Panfilov Division . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1941. After the war he worked for a short time in the Pravda newspaper. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1947 .
Since 1949, he led poetry workshops at the Literary Institute ; associate professor . He was a member of the editorial boards of the magazines " Moscow " and " Crocodile ". Member of the Board of the USSR JV since 1954, Board of the RSFSR JV in 1958-1990.
S.V. Smirnov died on January 1, 1993 . He was buried in Moscow at Vvedensky cemetery .
Creativity
Author of many poetic collections, poems, satirical miniatures, translations. Lyrics are characterized by courage and optimism, imbued with a sense of duty and patriotism, friendship between nations [2] [3] .
