Geographical position
The village of Volyntsevo is located on the right bank of the Seim River on one of its old Horn , the village of Ivanovka is located upstream at a distance of 3 km, the village of Kozlovka is located downstream at a distance of 2.5 km, on the opposite bank is the village of Peski district) . The river in this place is winding, forming estuaries, old ladies and marshy lakes. There are a lot of irrigation canals around the village.
History
Near the village of Volyntsevo , remains of settlements from the Neolithic , Bronze Age, Scythian times, Early Slavic first centuries AD were discovered. e., northerners (VIII — X centuries), Old Russian (ІХ — XIII centuries).
Putivl region is very rich in archaeological sites. In 1872, the famous historian D.Ya. Samokvasov began scientific archaeological excavations here, and excavated 19 barrows [2] .
Volyntsevskaya culture
D.T. Berezovets after excavations in 1948-1950, original settlements and burial grounds in the tract. Stan identified a new archaeological culture and gave it the name Volyntsevskaya .
Near Kharyvka village (Putivl region) in 1949 during the plowing Kharyevsky treasure dated around 730s was found. It included 70 silver and gold items [3] .
D.T. Berezovets has been working in the Putyvl region for many years since 1947. He excavated many monuments of different historical epochs [4] .
