Story
Lady Maria Barker is deprived of the attention of her husband, an English diplomat Sir Frederick Barker, who is constantly on the road. When the opportunity is presented, she gladly goes back secretly from her husband, who has left for Geneva , to Paris to her friend, the Grand Duchess Anna Dmitrievna. In the house of a friend, she encounters an Englishman, Anthony Halton, who immediately falls in love with Mary at first sight. Enthusiastic about each other, they experience a short date, during which Anthony calls his beloved “Angel”. However, Maria, fearing for marriage and reputation, abandons everything and, without saying anything to Anthony, goes back to London . But the insistent Englishman does not intend to retreat.
