Biography
Beginning of a military career
Hasan Najafov was born on July 14, 1963 in Baku . By nationality - Azerbaijani . Since 1980 in the Armed Forces of the USSR . After graduating from the Baku Higher Combined Arms Command School named after the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1984, Najafov served in parts of the Belarusian Military District , and since 1988 - in the Trans-Baikal Military District . Between 1993 and 1997, he served in the 201st Separate Motor Rifle Division in Tajikistan , where he participated in hostilities on the Tajik-Afghan border.
In 1997, Gasan Najafov was appointed commander of the 1st company of the 1st battalion of the 506th guards motorized rifle regiment of the Volga Military District, which was deployed in the Totsky camps in the Orenburg region . The following year, he served in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone as part of the CIS Peacekeeping Forces in Abkhazia .
Second Chechen War
In October 1999, a company of Najafov, as part of a regiment, arrived in Chechnya , where military operations were taking place at that time. On October 25, 506 SMEs, which was part of the North group of forces, made a night march. Rota Najafova attacked the enemy from the flank, using the factor of surprise . The commander withdrew his units between the fortified positions of the militants on the Turkic Range. During the night battle, the motorized rifle on the run broke into the positions of the militants, knocking the enemy out of their defensive positions. In December, Najafov’s company was one of the first to enter the approaches to Grozny , where in one of the battles for the city the company received a strong concussion.
By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated June 27, 2000, the Guard Major Najafov Hasan Rajab oglu was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
Further career
He served in the 205th separate motorized rifle brigade ( Budennovsk ). The military rank is lieutenant colonel. As of December 2015, he served in the 19th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District (Sputnik village, Vladikavkaz )
