Gained worldwide fame a year later after speaking to the flock on March 20, 2004. Segor’s speech was transferred to digital media and circulated by the media.
In a polemic enthusiasm, Sigor recalled the fact that the prophet Muhammad married a 9-year-old girl named Aisha the daughter of a close ally, Caliph Abu Bakr, not in order, as the Islamic leader and theologian Yusuf Abdullah al-Qardawi believes, “to cement their relationship not only by the brotherhood in Allah, but also by family ties. ” “Read the biography of Muhammad, and you will see that one of his wives was nine years old,” insisted Segor. It is known that in 623 AD, the marriage of Muhammad to 9-year-old Aisha took place.
Between April and May 2005 [2] [3] , a record of his speech spread throughout the Islamic world, triggering a scandal and provoking several Islamic theologians to issue fatwas against him.
After repeated threats of murder received by Shogor, he was taken under police protection. During April 2005, more than fifty Muslims participated in pickets held in front of the church, where Segor regularly preaches, and Segor himself partially disavowed his speech [3]
The threats against the Swedish pastor were compared to the assassination of the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh .
In 2015 and 2019, Segor was prosecuted twice for violations related to tax reporting and was disqualified. [four]
