Biography
Born on October 25, 1912 in the village of Trudovaya Solyanka, now in the Kinel-Cherkassky District of the Samara Region, in a peasant family, Russian .
He graduated from 7 classes. Before being called up for active service, he worked on the collective farm "Red Spotlight" as a mechanic.
From 1934 to 1936 he served in the Red Army. He returned, finished courses of drivers, got a family, conscientiously worked on his land. Member of the CPSU since 1943 .
He walked in infantry boots from Moscow region to Berlin - he fought on the South-Western, Don, 3rd Ukrainian, 1st Belorussian fronts. His frontline life was mainly in the glorified 62nd (8th Guards) Army, commanded by the famous commander V.I. Chuikov , who defended Stalingrad , which stormed Berlin . Dmitry Osin participated in the liberation of Donbass , Zaporozhye , Nikolaev , Odessa , Vitebsk , Orsha , Bobruisk , Poland , in the storming and capture of Berlin.
After being transferred to the reserve in March 1947, Major Osin D.V. lived and worked in the village of Anastasievka, Matveyev-Kurgan District (before 1959 - Anastasievsky District) in Soviet and economic work. In 1973, Dmitry Vasilyevich came to visit his small homeland, was a welcome guest of students and teachers of the Krasnogorsk school.
D.V. Osin died on September 22, 1987 in the village of Anastasievka at the age of 75 years. Buried there [1] .
Feat
Exceptional courage and heroism was shown by the commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 172nd Guards Infantry Regiment of the 57th Infantry Division of the 8th Guards Army Guard Captain Osin D.V. in battles from 1 to 3 February 1945 near Alt-Limmrit village ( Germany ). Aspen battalion surrounded the enemy group. Skillfully deploying his forces, personally being in battle formations, Osin repelled 5 violent enemy attacks and exhausted him, launched a counterattack, with swift and bold actions defeated the enemy, advanced, destroying up to 150 soldiers and officers of the enemy, captured 40 soldiers and 50 cars. Captain Osin personally destroyed the officer and 4 soldiers in hand-to-hand combat.
On February 3, 1945 , having received the task of forcing the Oder River, the Aspen battalion under heavy shelling of the enemy and the continuous raids of its aircraft, forced the river and seized a bridgehead on the left bank. Despite repeated attacks by the enemy, he was able to hold him for a day before the arrival of other units.
For the feat accomplished during the crossing of the Oder River, and holding the bridgehead, on the recommendation of the Military Council of the 8th Guards Army, on March 24, 1945 , the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded Dmitry Vasilyevich Osin the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
