Timofei Alekseevich Stukolkin ( April 24 ( May 6 ), 1829 - September 18 (30), 1894 ) - Russian dancer , comedian and vaudeville artist, an unsurpassed master of pantomime [1] . In addition to his artistic career, he taught dancing in various educational institutions of St. Petersburg.

Biography
Timofei Stukolkin was born on April 24 ( May 6 ), 1829 [1] in the village of Kozmino, Simbirsk province [2] .
At the age of 7-8 years, he began to perform in pantomimes of fair booths , so his bright facial abilities appeared.
He studied at the ballet department of the St. Petersburg Theater School , where among his teachers were Sh. Lashuk, F. Malavern and E. Gredlu. Being a pupil, he performed pantomime parts in performances. He made his debut in 1845 on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater , playing the role of Sotine in the comic ballet " Millers " directed by E. Gredlu.
After graduating from college in 1848 and until his death, he was an artist of the St. Petersburg Imperial Troupe , performed at the Bolshoi Kamenny , Hermitage and Mariinsky theaters [3] .
He created both characteristic and grotesque-comic parties, and psychological images. He performed in drama, comedy, vaudeville, performed comic couplets. In addition, composed for himself special concert numbers, [2] .
In 1864 , Timofei Stukolkin was supposed to be the first performer of Ivanushka’s part in Caesar Pugni ’s ballet The Little Humpbacked Horse , but before the premiere he broke his leg, in the role of Ivanushka he was replaced by Nikolai Troitsky .
Even in the seventh decade he continued to remain an indispensable pantomime artist in the troupe. In 1892 he performed the role of Drosselmeyer at the premiere of P. Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker .
Among Stukolkin’s partners on stage were Nikolai Goltz , Carolina Rosati , Lev Ivanov , Alexandra Kemmerer , Alfred Bekefi , Alexander Pisho , Pavel Gerdt , Ekaterina Vazem , Antonietta Del-Era , Alexander Shiryaev , Sergey Legat and many other artists of the St. Petersburg ballet of the 2nd half XIX century.
Since 1854, Timofei Alekseevich taught ballroom dancing at the Smolny , Catherine , Patriotic and Elizabethan institutes, at the Alexander Lyceum .
Timothy Stukolkin died on September 18 (30), 1894, right on the stage, after the II act of the ballet “ Coppelia ” by Leo Delib , where he played the role of Coppelius in the production of Marius Petipa .
The memoirs of Timofey Alekseevich were partially published in 1895 in the journal “ Artist ” [1] .
