Maria Catalano ( born Maria Catalano , born February 27, 1982 in Dudley , England [1] ) is an English snooker player , one of the best players in modern women's snooker. Catalano is the niece of the famous snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan [2] .

Biography and career
Maria started playing snooker at 15. During her career, she won many tournaments, but at the World Championships she never won first place. Four times (in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013) she reached the final of the world championship, but all four times she lost to Ryan Evans - with a score of 2: 5, 1: 5, 3: 5 and 3: 6, respectively. In 2007, Maria for the first time took the 2nd place in the world rankings [2] . Now she is also the second [3] .
