History
Kalitnikovsky streets (Bolshaya, Malaya, Srednaya) were originally called Aleksandrovsky - according to the Aleksandrovskaya settlement located here. In 1922, they were renamed to Kalitnikovsky cemetery , founded in 1771 . The cemetery was named after the area Kalitniki , where the gates lived - craftsmen who made leather bags and purses (gates).
Description
Middle Kalitnikovskaya street consists of two sections separated by the October tram depot . It starts from Nizhny Novgorod Lane and runs east almost parallel to Bolshoy Kalitnikovskaya , crosses Volovya Street and Maly Kalitnikovsky Passage , Bolshoy Kalitnikovsky Passage adjoins it, then the street goes to Kalitnikovsky Pond , where it is interrupted. The second section of the street begins behind the Oktyabrsky Tram Depot and Novokonnaya Square from Chesmenskaya Street , crosses Skotoprogonnaya Street , the Boensky passage adjoins to its left, and Karacharovskaya Street adjoins to the right, then goes to the Third Transport Ring (there is no exit to it) and runs along the inside of the highway to Car passage .
