Bend of the river Ruza.
Forced turn of the river Meuse .
Radiation - a smooth bend of a river channel [1] or other watercourse , a section between two adjacent inflection points of its center line.
Often the term bends is identified with the term meanders , but this is not always true.
River bends are formed both in meandering and for other reasons: geological, geomorphological and others. If during meandering, the bends cause a regular planned development of the channel, that is, the meandering process , then in this case the term bend and meandering are almost identical. If the tortuosity of the river is caused by the flow around an obstacle, as well as in incised and adapted rivers, then river bends will take place, but meanders will not.
