1 Timisoara was deprived of a license to participate in the top division due to the unstable financial situation. Thus, the club was automatically excluded from the composition of the Champions League, it was replaced by the third winner of the Romanian championship “Vaslui” [2] .
2 The day before the draw of the group stage, the Turkish Federation withdrew the participation of Fenerbahce in the tournament because of the scandal with match-fixing [3][4] . UEFA urgently replaced the club with the second winner of the Turkish championship “Trabzonspor”, who had previously dropped out of the tournament at the stage of the third qualifying round [5] .
Note
The winner of the Champions League 2010/2011 was Barcelona, which in this draw secured a place in the group stage, becoming the champion of Spain. Therefore, the following changes have occurred in qualifications: [6]
The champion of the association at number 13 (Switzerland) began his performance with the group stage.
Champion of the association at number 16 (Scotland) started from the third qualification round (champion qualification).
The champions of the associations numbered 48 and 49 (Faroe Islands and Northern Ireland) began their performance with the second qualifying round.
