Justification of Symbols
The administrative center of the rural settlement of Borisovskoye is the village of Borisovo , located 10 km from Mozhaisk , in the upper reaches of the Protva River . In 1585, here, on the far approaches to the capital , the construction of the famous stone Borisoglebsky church unfolded. It was built on a high cape and was surrounded by a rampart and a moat. On a separate high hill, on the banks of the Protva, a fortress was laid. The fortress was protected on one side by a high bulk earthen dike, and on the other hand, by a deep moat. A small but heavily fortified fortress, together with a nearby church, which performed guard functions due to its height (74 m), proved its impregnability. The Polish prince Vladislav could not take it either in 1609 or in 1618. Formed around the church and fortress (castle) of Borisov, the town becomes the residence of Boris Godunov (reigned from 1598 to 1605). However, being well fortified, in the difficult years of the Time of Troubles, he also served as an outpost of Mozhaisk and the Principality of Moscow.
The glorious history of Borisov-town, the predecessor of the village of Borisov, is reflected on the flag of a rural settlement.
A mutated (brick) wall with three towers allegorically reflects the former fortress, and the royal crown, worn on the middle tower, symbolically reflects the belonging of this fortress to Tsar Boris Godunov. The fortress is a symbol of protection and guard. The symbolism of the crown is ambiguous:
- a symbol of deity, triumph, exaltation;
- a symbol of dignity, glory, honor;
- a symbol of victory, reward;
- a symbol of monarchy, empire, regality;
- a symbol of power, wealth, superiority.
White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity, clarity, openness, divine wisdom, reconciliation.
Red color is a symbol of courage, life-affirming strength and beauty, holiday, labor.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of the highest value, greatness, generosity, wealth, and harvest.
