At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles on a Linky horse , he won a silver medal in team competition as part of the UK team. In 1992 he participated in the Games in Barcelona ( 7th place in the team show jumping ).

In 1978, he accepted American citizenship and moved to the United States, as he was married to an American. There, he continued his career and won several tournaments, including the American Grand Prix Association Championship, American Invitational, Devon Horse Show and Hampton Classic Horse Show. In 1994, he participated in the World Cup in The Hague as part of the US team.

At the end of his career, he worked as a horse dealer.
