Underground Mechanized Hopper

Underground mechanized bunkers as an important auxiliary tool contribute to increasing throughput capabilities, reliability and efficiency of use of the transport system. Their role significantly increases with the introduction of conveyor. They allow you to compensate for the uneven flow of goods and the failure of certain vehicles.

Mechanized bunkers are used not only during the construction of mines , but also during their operation. Installed in the workings of typical cross-sections, they, as a rule, do not require a large additional volume of mining operations and a significant difference in elevation between the points of loading and unloading the material, eliminate the creation of arches and stuck pieces of rock mass in the outlets. Thanks to the bunkers, the speed of the preparatory workings increases by about 1.5 times.

Underground hopper: 1 - accumulating trough, 2 - scraper bottom conveyor , 3 - drive section, 4 - working body, 5 - linear sections, 6 - end section

The most widespread are underground mechanized bunkers, which have a simple, robust and compact design. Such a bunker (see figure) consists of an accumulating trench 1, a scraper bottom conveyor 2, a movement mechanism and an automated control system. The conveyor, in addition to the working body 4, includes a drive (3), linear (5) and end (6) sections.

The designations of the basic sizes of the bins contain the letters BS (scraper bunker) and numbers that show their capacity (35, 60, 90, 120 and 160 m3).

When choosing bunkers, in addition to mining factors, the physical and mechanical properties of the cargo and the technical capabilities of the chain working body (conveyor) are taken into account.
