Alyona Lanskaya (real name Elena Mikhailovna Lepokhina [1] [2] ; born September 7, 1985 , Mogilev , Belarus ) is a Belarusian singer , Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus [3] [4] . The representative of Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 [5] with the song " Solayoh " [6] . Laureate of the music competitions “Sarandev-2008” ( Bulgaria ); European Cup 2009 ( Russia ); winner of the Atlantic Breeze-2010 International Competition for Young Singers of Popular Music [7] ; Laureate of the Young Musicians of Belarusі Competition for Young Musicians (First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio); Laureate of the 1st degree of the competition of young performers of youth songs of the V International Festival "Youth for the Union State" ( Russia ). In July 2011, at the contest of young pop singers “Vitebsk-2011”, held as part of the international art festival “ Slavic Bazaar ”, she won the “ Grand Prix ”.

Biography

From the first grade, the girl sang in a school choir. In seniors - as a member of musical groups performed at children's discos. At the age of 15, she went to perform at the republican harvest festival Dozhinki [8] , which took place in Shklov .

She graduated from the Mogilev Economic Vocational College with a degree in Banking and the Mogilev Belarusian-Russian University with a degree in Finance and Credit [9] . During her studies, she took part in various city and national competitions. At the Spamash production center, she worked with the authors on the repertoire, studied with the vocal teacher and choreographer.

In 2005 , she took part in the ONT project “Song of the Year of Belarus 2005”, which took place as part of the International Festival of Arts “ Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk ”. She won the television project of ONT channel “Silver Gramophone” (according to the results of the audience’s vote, the song “Quiet-Quieter” by Alena Lanskaya was recognized as the best for several weeks).

Her first clip was created in 2008 for the song “Gave Me Dawn” on the LAD TV channel. In the same year she took part in the concert “Song of the Year of Belarus” ( ONT TV channel). In May 2008 , the artist received a diploma of the I degree of the European music competition “Sarandev” ( Dobrich , Bulgaria ), where she performed the songs “Names” (music and lyrics by E. Oleinik ) and “Don't Lie” (V. Kondrusevich, E . Chernushevich). A year later, in May 2009 , Alena Lanskaya won the first place in the International European Cup 2009 Competition ( Russia ). And in March 2010, the singer became the owner of the Golden Ear radio award for the song “Supersensual love” (music by E. Oleinik, lyrics by V. Rudenko) (the group “White Russia” - Ivan Buslai and Alyona Lanskaya), and later accepted this song participation in the EuroFest National Musical Television Project [10] .

In June 2009, a second video for the song “Everybody Get Up” (E. Oleinik, V. Rudenko) appeared on Belarusian TV channels. The song "Everybody Get Up" for 10 weeks kept in the charts of radio "Unistar".

On November 7, 2009, Alena Lanskaya qualified for the finals of the Atlantic Breeze-2010 International Singing Competition in the selection, which took place in Minsk . In May 2010, representing Belarus at this creative competition, which was held in New York ( USA ), won it [11] .

On March 8, 2010, her first solo album, “Labyrinths of Fate,” was released, which included songs in Russian, Belarusian and English.

In April 2010, the singer became a laureate of the Young Musicians of Belarusі contest in the nomination "Variety Vocal", which was conducted by the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio from November 2009 to April 2010.

In May 2010, a third video clip of the singer for the song “Life is Ok!” ( E. Oleinik , V. Rudenko) appeared on Belarusian television channels.

In September 2010, Alena Lanskaya became the laureate of the 1st degree of the competition of young singers of youth songs at the V International Festival “Youth for the Union State” ( Rostov-on-Don , Russia) [12] .

Achievements

The first prizes of the competitions “Sarandev-2008” (Bulgaria), “European Cup-2009” ( Russia ), the competition of young performers of youth songs at the V International Festival “Youth for the Union State” (Russia), victory at the International Competition of young performers of popular music "Atlantic Breeze-2010" ( Miami , USA ).

She took part in concerts and projects of ONT channel (“Song of the Year of Belarus”, “New Voices of Belarus”, “Silver Gramophone”). She repeatedly performed in the framework of the International Festival of Arts “ Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk ”, concert tours “For Belarus!”, “Chernobyl Way - the Road of Life” and other events. The owner of the Golden Ear radio prize (Alpha Radio) for the song “Supersensual love”, which she performed as part of the White Russia group (together with Ivan Buslai, Katrin and Artyom Akhpash).

On November 25, 2011, Alena Lanskaya was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus by decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus. Alyona Lanskaya became the youngest honored artist in the republic [3] .

On July 11, 2011, at the Slavyansky Bazar music competition held annually in Vitebsk , Alyona Lanskaya, representing Belarus at this competition, scored 89 points out of 90 possible for the song “Sky knows” based on the first day of the 20th International Pop Song Performers Contest taking a leading position on the first day [13] . On the second day of the festival, the singer scored 179 out of 180 possible points [14] .

 

On July 13, 2011, according to the results of the contest, the singer won the Grand Prix of the contest of young pop singers “Vitebsk-2011”, having won, which, according to her, she went 6 years [15] .

Eurovision Song Contest

In the qualifying round for the Eurovision 2012 song contest, which was held in May 2012 in Baku , Alyona Lanskaya initially went to the final, which was held on February 14, 2012 in Minsk and was held at the Sports Palace [16] . In addition to her, the five finalists of Eurofest were: Gunesh , the Lightsound group, Victoria Aleshko and Yuzari. Alyona Lanskaya performed the song “All my life” [17] .

As a result of the final qualifying round, Alena took the first place, gaining the maximum number of points - 12. But the objectivity of the results of the qualifying round raised doubts among some of the contestants and the jury. On February 24, 2012, at a meeting with the president, it was reported that the results of Eurofest had been rigged, and instead the pop-rock group Litesound , who took the second place in the selection, would go [18] [19] . President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed his opinion on this subject:

The results were rigged, I don’t know why. Framed this girl, a talented singer. I don’t know how you will deal with her now. And they offended these guys who actually turned out to be winners according to your criteria [20] .

At the end of 2012, the singer took part in the qualifying round for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 (which took place on May 14-18, 2013 in the Swedish city of Malmo ). In total, 80 applications were received for participation in the qualifying round. The song for the qualifying round (“ Rhythm Of Love ” ( Russian: The rhythm of love ; written by Belarusian authors Leonid Shirin, Yuri Vashchuk (music) and Alexey Shirin (lyrics)) for the contest Alyona recorded in Sweden in the studio, which belongs to the ex-vocalist of the legendary group " ABBA " to Benny Anderssen [21] [22] .

December 7, 2012, following the results of the national selection round of the international song contest (which took place at the Belteleradiocompany ), it became known that Alyona Lanskaya will represent Belarus at Eurovision 2013 in Sweden [22] .

In March 2013, it was announced that Alyona Lanskaya will perform in the first semi-final on May 14 with the song “ Solayoh ”, written by European authors Mark Pelink and Martin King, and recorded at London's Abbey Road studio [23] . In the Russian version, the song sounds like “Soleo” (translation of the text by Victoria Solovyova) [24] .

In the semifinals, Alena Lanskaya performed at number eleven [25] and reached the final [26] . Alyona became the third Belarusian performer to the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest [27] [28] . In total, 26 participants went to the finals. According to the results of the draw, she performed at number 8 [29] . According to the results of the competition, Alena Lanskaya took 16th place, receiving 48 points [30] .

In addition, in the ranking of the most beautiful participants in Eurovision 2013, Alena Lanskaya took second place [31] .
