The Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of the R. G. Kuzeev Institute of Ethnological Research of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences [1] is a state museum in the city of Ufa attached to an academic research institution dedicated to the archeology and ethnography of the Southern Urals . Founded in 1976 at the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences . The museum is located in the House of E. A. Ponosovoy-Mollo , a monument of architecture and urban planning of the early XX century [2] .

History
The initiator of the creation in Ufa of the Academic Museum of Archeology and Ethnography was the renowned scientist-ethnologist, doctor of historical sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Rail Kuzeev. The decision to organize it was taken on January 20, 1976 , and after a few years, in 1980, the Museum was open to visitors.
Since 1999, the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography has been operating as part of the R. G. Kuzeev Institute of Ethnological Research of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IEI USC RAS).
Collection
The Academic Museum is a repository of archaeological, ethnographic and anthropological collections collected during scientific expeditions. It concentrates the richest collections on all periods of the ancient and medieval history of the Southern Urals, including the famous collection of Filippovsky kurgans “Gold of the Sarmatians”, and valuable materials on the culture and life of the peoples of the region have been accumulated.
Museum collections are the basis for conducting fundamental archaeological and ethnological research.
Since 2012, the Museum’s exposition has been fully accessible to all Internet users in 3D format on the official website of the Institute of Ethnological Studies named after R. G. Kuzeeva UC RAS (ikuzeev.ru).
