Belongs to the Baltic Sea basin . It originates on the edge of the vast Red Moss bog, in the area of the Transitions village. In the vicinity of the village of Gainovo, on the left flows into the Holynya , the mouth is located 22 km along the left bank of the Holynya river. The course is very tortuous. In the upper part (to the village of Selkava ) passes through unpopulated marshland. The length of the river is 23 km [2] .
On the banks of the river there are 5 villages (from the source to the mouth): Selkava, Novinki , Krivets , Turgor , Dorozhkino .

According to the state water register of Russia, it belongs to the Baltic Basin District , the water management section of the river is Lovat and Pola, the river sub-basin of the river is Volkhov. It belongs to the river basin of the Neva River (including the basins of the rivers Onega and Ladoga) [2] .
